How to appear on Google Maps with your business
Appearing on Google Maps is free and brings customers. Here is how to create and optimise your Google Business Profile step by step.
When someone searches for a business like yours nearby, Google first shows a map with three or four listings. Appearing there is one of the most profitable things a local business can do, and it is free.
Step 1: create your Business Profile
Go to Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business), search for your business and, if it does not exist, create it. You will need to verify it, usually by post, phone or video.
Step 2: complete it 100%
- Correct name, category, address and service area.
- Up-to-date hours (including holidays).
- Phone, website and a directions button.
- Real photos of your premises, products or work.
Step 3: get reviews
Reviews are the factor that moves the needle most. Ask happy customers to leave one and always reply, politely, to all of them.
Connect the map to your website
Link your Profile to your website and show the map inside it. At NapiWeb I already integrate your Google Maps and your reviews into the site.
